Bachelor of Science in Furniture Design and Manufacture
Projects
The Programme introduces fundamental skills and builds on these to
more complex and advanced skills as time progresses. Design and
making projects are an essential component in acquiring skill,
knowledge and experience. Throughout the three years a number of
these challenging projects are set for students to address and in
year three, live projects linked to industry form an integral
component of the Programme.
What Subjects Will I Study?
Year 1
Learning and Communication, Materials 1, Furniture Construction,
Manufacturing Technology 1, Furniture Studies, Technical Drawing,
Maths and Science 1, Projects 1.
Year2
Computer Applications 1, Enterprise Studies, Mathematics and Science
2, Manufacturing Technology 2, Industrial Design History,
Design and Visual Studies, FDM Projects.
Year3
CAD/CAM, Quantitative Techniques, Management Studies 1, Product
Development, Materials and Standards, Design Studies,
Design and Innovation 1, Commercial Projects.
