Furniture Maker
The successful applicant, who will be a skilled, experienced and highly motivated furniture maker, will have the opportunity to work in a vibrant and creative workshop environment. Under the direction of Joseph Walsh and the supervision of a Production Manager the Maker will work directly on the studio’s ‘Selected Works’ and assist in the making of one-of-a-kind bespoke commissions.
The role will include:
§ Working in a team with an Assistant Maker and Senior Maker.
§ Working on studio commissions from timber selection through to completion.
§ Working as part of a team on significant one-of-a-kind commissions.
§ Applicants will have completed a college course (at a recognised college) and/or have completed an apprenticeship programme.
§ Applicants will have at least 3 years of experience in a workshop, making bespoke furniture at the highest level and/or will have completed work on a selected commission at Joseph Walsh Studio.

Each Maker will have the following hand tools:
Rulers, calipers, measuring devices, full set of chisels, mallet, hammers, handsaws, hand planes, spoke shaves, cabinet scrapers and screwdrivers.
Each Maker will have the following maker’s power tools:
Router, Router Bits, Jigsaw, Drill (battery), Drill Bits and random orbital sander.
