Position:
Senior Furniture Maker
The successful applicant, who will be a skilled, experienced and a highly motivated Furniture Maker, will have the opportunity to work in a vibrant and creative environment. Under the direction of Joseph Walsh and the supervision of a Production Manager the Senior Furniture Maker will work on significant one-of-a-kind ‘installation’ works, ‘Bespoke’ Commissions and ‘Selected Works’. They will contribute to the strategic development of the workshop.
The role will include:
§ Working on significant one-of-a-kind commissions from timber selection through to completion.
§ The making of the studio’s ‘Selected Works’.
§ Delegating tasks (within ones own project) to Assistant Makers.
§ Overseeing the training of Assistant Makers
§ Continuously raising standards in the work and in the working environment
§ Applicants will have completed a college course (at a recognised college) and/or completed an apprenticeship programme.
§ Applicants will have a minimum of 5 years experience in a workshop, making bespoke furniture at the highest level and/or will have completed work on a significant commission at Joseph Walsh Studio.

The senior maker will have a ‘Senior Makers Chest’ to include all hand and power tools.
